The app

What Snowvue is for

Eight parts of the app. Each one should be useful this week, on an ordinary phone.

Market & prices

Know the price before you walk

A checked price from your district, before you hire a boda.

  • Prices reported at the market, checked, and shown by district.
  • Sell, buy, or barter with a person you can name.
  • Snowvue Box is for moving a parcel through a local agent.

Eat well

Cook what the week can afford

A balanced plate, scored in plain words, priced with food that is actually in the market.

  • Score the plate: staple, beans or sauce, greens, and fruit.
  • Swap to a cheaper in-season food that still feeds the house.
  • Home recipes priced with this week’s market, not a book from somewhere else.

Ekika · family circle

Ask the people who remember

Grandparents, parents, and grown children stay in one circle. Jjajja keeps what the family knows.

  • Ekyoto, the family fireplace: record a story in the language you speak at home.
  • The Olulyo, your family tree, and a family recipe book with a quarterly contest.
  • Find my kin is strictly opt-in, elder to elder, and only when a clan and an ancestor are shared.

Kijja na

Come and play for your district

Monthly games. The prize is a real thing, named before the month begins.

  • Guess a price, share a photo, answer a question, or build a balanced plate.
  • A leaderboard for the district, so the game stays local.
  • The prize is named before the month begins.

Scans & advice

A photo, then a careful next step

A first reading is not a vet. If the animal is sick, the directory should give you a name and a place.

  • Photograph a plant or an animal and get a first reading.
  • A directory of vets, so the next step has a name and a place.
  • Weather alerts and extension knowledge, written for the phone you have.

Shorts & community

Short lessons, and old knowledge that has been checked

A film is not the same thing as a fact.

  • Short videos you can watch when the network allows, and keep when it does not.
  • Forums for a district, a crop, or a family question.
  • Traditional knowledge is marked verified only after an elder has checked it.

Food pantry

Surplus should reach a kitchen

You agree to the referral. Your name is not shared quietly.

  • A partner pantry is checked before it is listed.
  • You choose the referral. Saying nothing is not a yes.
  • The aim is simple: food that would spoil can feed a household nearby.

For pantries and partners

Diaspora

Support the shamba. Do not send cash into a chat.

Relatives abroad can follow the family garden and pay for inputs that are delivered.

  • Join an Ekika only when the family in Uganda invites you, or an elder accepts you.
  • Sponsor seed, tools, or other inputs. The goods travel. The cash does not.
  • You see only what that circle has chosen to show.
